If you want to light your miniature. We can teach you how. We are the lighting experts of the Miniature Museum of Greater St. Louis. Ideally, the best and safest way is with LEDs. LEDs produce plenty of light and virtually no heat and use lots less current than incandescent bulbs. Plus you can run LEDs from transformers, power supplies, or batteries. Because they are more efficient, batteries will last far longer than with incandescent bulbs.

Whether you want to use batteries or plug in power supplies, we can teach you how. If you want to use LED strips and front edge lighting like we use most often in the museum, we can teach you how. If you want to use single LEDs, no matter what the voltage, we can teach you how. If you already have a lighted miniature using the standard 12-VAC lighting system and you want to add LED lighting to it, we can teach you how.

For most LED lighting, being able to solder makes things so much easier. We can teach you how. If you're serious about learning to solder, you should start with a decent iron. We suggest this one:

XYtronic 258 Variable Temperature Soldering Iron from Amazon for $20.

Another problem most miniaturists face is where to get lighting supplies; e.g. LEDs, LED strips, switches, power plugs, power supplies, battery packs, etc. We will suggest sources for these things. So, if you really want to learn how to light your miniature, enroll in our class and let the lighting experts of the Miniature Museum of Greater St. Louis teach you how.
