May 2006 Road Trip
Independence & Kansas City, MO

Only six of us were able to go on this road trip because of graduations and other commitments.  In Independence we visited the Miniature White House on exhibit at the Truman Library.

  • We just had to have a picture of our group with Harry himself.

  • Shopping in the Library Gift Shop

  •

  • A quick stop at McDonalds on our way to the miniature museum.  McDonalds currently is featuring the miniature Build-A-Bear animals.  The manager let us all pick any of the animals we wanted (customer satisfaction, he said).  We just had to take of picture of him.

  •

  • Then onward to the miniature museum in Kansas City.

  •

  • What a full and fun day we all had.  Then, dinner at Outback.  The waiter borrowed Fay's hat while he waited on tables.  Since it was Sally's birthday, we celebrated and played the kazoos.

  •

Before we left the area, we met Bev's son and family for breakfast to help celebrate her grandson's 2nd birthday.  At first her grandson was a bit leery of all these laides in their purple and their red hats.  But, he warmed up to us when we gave him a birthday gift.

A Great Trip!
